THE FRENCH DISPATCH |180 STUDIOS EXHIBITION EXTENDED UNTIL 28 NOVEMBER

180 STUDIOS EXHIBITION EXTENDED UNTIL

28 NOVEMBER

FEATURING ORIGINAL SETS, PROPS, COSTUMES & ARTWORK

PLUS “LE SANS BLAGUE” CAFÉ

WRITTEN AND DIRECTED BY WES ANDERSON

In celebration of the cinema release of THE FRENCH DISPATCH, the tenth feature film from director Wes Anderson, 180 Studios presents an exhibition of ORIGINAL SETS, PROPS, COSTUMES & ARTWORK illuminating the unique aesthetic of Anderson’s imaginary world. Due to the success of both the film and the exhibition, the latter has now been extended for a further two weeks. Visitors to the exhibition also have the chance to enjoy “LE SANS BLAGUE” CAFÉ serving classic French refreshments as featured in the film. The exhibition will be open to the public until Sunday 28 November and the film is in cinemas in the UK and Ireland now.

Following the success of the ISLE OF DOGS exhibition in 2018, 180 Studios is delighted to continue its partnership with Wes Anderson with an experience showcasing the art and design of THE FRENCH DISPATCH. In addition to costumes, props and sets from each of the film’s stories, the exhibition includes miniature dioramas, large-scale oil paintings and a working version of “Le Sans Blague” café, one of its most memorable sets.

On the death of its beloved Kansas-born editor Arthur Howitzer, Jr., (Bill Murray) the staff of The French Dispatch, a widely circulated American magazine based in the French city of Ennui-sur-Blasé, convenes to write his obituary. Memories of Howitzer flow into the creation of four stories: a travelogue of the seediest sections of the city itself from The Cycling Reporter; “The Concrete Masterpiece,” about a criminally insane painter, his guard and muse, and his ravenous dealers; “Revisions to a Manifesto,” a chronicle of love and death on the barricades at the height of student revolt; and “The Private Dining Room of the Police Commissioner,” a suspenseful tale of drugs, kidnapping and fine dining.

THE FRENCH DISPATCH is written and directed by Wes Anderson (THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL, ISLE OF DOGS). The film stars Benicio del Toro (SICARIO, THE USUAL SUSPECTS), Adrien Brody (THE PIANIST, THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL), Léa Seydoux (SPECTRE, BLUE IS THE WARMEST COLOUR), Tilda Swinton (DOCTOR STRANGE, WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT KEVIN), Frances McDormand (NOMADLAND, THREE BILBOARDS OUTSIDE EBBING, MISSOURI), Timothée Chalamet (CALL ME BY YOUR NAME, BEAUTIFUL BOY), Lyna Khoudri (PAPICHA, THE BLESSED), Jeffrey Wright (WESTWORLD, HOLD THE DARK), Mathieu Amalric (QUANTUM OF SOLACE, THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL), Stephen Park (FARGO, FALLING DOWN), Bill Murray (LOST IN TRANSLATION, RUSHMORE) and Owen Wilson (ZOOLANDER, THE ROYAL TENENBAUMS). The producers are Jeremy Dawson (FANTASTIC MR FOX, ISLE OF DOGS), Steven Rales (SEEKING A FRIEND FOR THE END OF THE WORLD, ME AND EARL AND THE DYING GIRL) and Wes Anderson (MOONRISE KINGDOM). The director of photography is Robert Yeoman (MAMMA MIA! HERE WE GO AGAIN, THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL).

THE FRENCH DISPATCH, released by Searchlight Pictures, is in cinemas now.
