@londonbeautifullife has taken a mini break from our YouTube due to Lockdown 2.0 in the UK. BUT fear not as we got the chance to interview singer Brocarde on her new single 'Twisted', her favourite spots in London and why filming the music video for 'Twisted' was twisted in itself!

@londonbeautifullife - "Congratulations on the single 'Twisted'! Tell me more about the song?"

Brocarde - "Thank you, yes I just released my new single “Twisted”. I wrote it several years ago when I was living in LA, I was at a stage in my life where I was reflecting on being misunderstood and I’d really started to express myself musically. I had so much fire in me and a screw you attitude so a lot of the emotion in Twisted is delivered in that way, it’s very sarcastic and almost defiant, at the time I needed that energy to keep going and evolve, it’s like musical armour".

@londonbeautifullife - "What was it like to film the music video?"

Brocarde - "Traumatic, literally everything that went wrong did, I even got hit by one of the knives, and that pretty much summed it up. Due to the lockdown the video had to be shot in several parts, so it look on a life of it’s own and that actually helped shape and change the narrative".

@londonbeautifullife - "Being in the public eye have you had any 'Twisted' horror stories from the public?"

Brocarde - "What like stalkers and weirdos? Well people can be interesting shall we say, and often life can imitate art and vice versa".

@londonbeautifullife - "What are your favourite spots in London?"

Brocarde - "My favourite London experience was when we first went into lockdown, I was in London and was lucky enough to walk through piccadilly circus and oxford street at dawn when it was empty. It was scary, the usual rush hour traffic was gone, you could hear birdsong, it felt like I was the last remaining person on earth, it was very cinematic and humbling. There is always beauty to be found in darkness and experiences like that don’t come around often".

@londonbeautifullife - "Where would we normally see your local London hang outs?"

Brocarde - "I wouldn’t say I’m a creature of habit, London has so much to offer, you have to channel your inner Dora the Explorer".

@londonbeautifullife - "What is your favourite iconic London building?"

Brocarde - "London has some stunning architecture, even the things that we take for granted as they just form part of the landscape. When you stop for a moment and soak it all in there is an enormous amount of detail and craftsmanship in buildings like the houses of parliament, it’s awe inspiring really".

@londonbeautifullife - "Best thing about London?"

Brocarde - "It’s diversity and having all you need at your fingertips, aside from that the River Thames, because of my roots I feel at home near the river and on the river. I find it calming and tranquil, I used to walk the river thames each day from london bridge to battersea, it’s stunning, there’s a huge sense of past and present which merge together beautifully".
