1x1 Studio AW20

1x1 Studio showcased their AW2020 at Fabric London in Farringdon. Here is what went down.

1x1 Studio has always been synonymous with fantastic technical knitwear and

collections that have a romanticised interpretation of the world we live in. For

Autumn Winter 2020, Creative Director Yi-Ling Kuo, have harnessed inspiration from

the tempestuous elements of love stories they see on their many international

travels. Goodbye kisses at the airport, crossed words on carriages aboard a long train

journey home a relationship break up, held in public space to save face. Love was

never meant to be easy and this collection sets out to document the minutia of love

from happy tears to ironic smiles.

Emotive hues of passionate reds and purple and fresh mint are juxtaposed with

blacks and metal shades. innovative knitting techniques breath newness into the

whole collection alongside the favoured ladder style.

Fabrications are innovative with Corn, recycled and Sparkling gold yarns, vegan

leather and metal trimming. They have a handcrafted sensibility and are designed

with a 70’s point of view. 1x1's pieces are created with the firm belief that there

aren’t many boundaries between menswear and womenswear, the pieces should

reflect the inspiration of this collection and just be loved.

paria/FARZANEH AW20

paria/FARZANEH is known for her exciting runway shows.

In this particular occasion this show was in an all boys school in the City of London which started with a wedding ceremony.

I was thoroughly excited when the groom was the start of the runway.

Check out the content from the show below. Starting with THAT wedding ceremony.

In Gold We Trust AW20

Our last showcase of the day was In Gold We Trust at the Crypt.

Had a great time having some drinks and checking out the AW20 collection.

The Amsterdam-based In Gold We Trust has their new collection looks to the future of fashion with continuity — presenting innovative ways to breathe new life into the old at London Men’s Fashion Week.

This collection was born from cherishing quality materials — their response to an ecologically crumbling world. A perfect sync of classical tailoring and streetwear adds unmatched functionality to the

collection, where hangtags double as stickers and repurposed recycled polyester creates the garments’ neck labels.

Building on their nostalgic influences, the collection encapsulates a yearning for unrefined nature. Organic, functional cuts complemented by vibrant and distinctive colours reinvent every day classics that encompass sweaters, hoodies, T-shirts and windbreakers. The comfort and utile aspect of sportswear and workwear lend depth and dynamism to the silhouettes as the guiding principles that underpin each garment' construction.

As the Franzels put it, “In Gold We Trust is nothing more than a memory of the past made

in the present.” It’s an invitation to reminisce and recall images of former identities and

windows of time, embodying the potential of fashion to evoke powerful narratives.

Manuela Cochat (@manuela_cochat) and Jorge (@jorgecesarsantos) were in attendance.
